Biden's Domestic Troubles
US officials are trying to convince their biggest Arab ally against production cuts, but Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is not listening to the US.
However, according to the news agency ASP, Saudi Arabia has defended the decision to reduce production, saying that the priority of the OPEC Plus countries is to establish a "sustainable oil market".
On Tuesday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said in an interview with Al Arabiya TV that the decision was "purely economic and was taken unanimously by (the organization's) member states."He said that OPEC Plus members took the right decision by showing responsibility
Khashoggi's murder is still a source of controversy
Mohammed bin Salman and Joe Biden exchanged bitter sentences during Biden's visit to Saudi Arabia in July, which, according to a source, was the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey in 2018.
US intelligence says that Mohammed bin Salman approved the capture or assassination operation of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was murdered and dismembered inside the Saudi embassy in Istanbul.
The Crown Prince has denied ordering the murder, but he has accepted responsibility. Biden said in July that he told Prince he believed he was responsible.
